Return to Chronologies

Stargate Chronology

The Stargate timeline is particularly difficult. Several episodes have concrete dates, many episodes take place a certain number of months or years after other episodes, and many episodes take place over a set number of weeks or months. All of this added together makes things difficult because airdates rarely follow any of the episodes’ internal chronological information. Episodes which air only weeks apart could be set nearly a year apart based on internal information.

The following chronology is an attempt to sort all of this information out into a coherent timeline. I initially created it using an Excel spreadsheet which helped me calculate lengths of time when I entered in the internal information. It is certainly not perfect and could be tweaked at any time as I pick up other information on subsequent viewings of episodes.

The timeline below includes information from the Stargate movie, the Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe series, and the short-lived animated Stargate Infinity series. At a future time, I may go back through and add the various novels but I currently have no plans on that.
